Every adventure has a beginning.
Myth & Mana Games didn't begin with a storefront, a warehouse, or a giant inventory. It began with a father and a son.
We're Aaron and JT Tompkins, and somewhere between opening packs, building decks, playing games, collecting cards, talking about the hobby, and probably spending more money on cardboard than either of us intended, a question started taking shape:
Not just an online card business. Something that could last.
So in 2026, we started Myth & Mana Games.
From a hobby to a business.
Like a lot of people in this community, we started as customers.
We bought cards. We opened packs. We built decks. We played. We collected.
Eventually, we started selling cards from our own collection online.
The first sales weren't part of some grand corporate launch. They were an experiment.
Orders started coming in.
So we bought more inventory. We learned the marketplaces. We started building systems. We began talking to distributors. We created our Discord. We started studying the industry and thinking seriously about what a great game store could look like.
And the idea kept getting bigger.
We realized we weren't nearly as interested in simply selling cards as we were in building the company that could grow around them.
Two generations. One vision.
Aaron and JT came to Myth & Mana from different places. And that's one of the things that makes this work.
For JT, gaming is about passion, culture, and connection.
Trading card games gave him something he genuinely enjoys, but some of the best parts of the hobby aren't the cards themselves. They're the conversations across the table, the friendships that form around a shared interest, the ridiculous moments during a game, the pulls you remember, and the stories you tell afterward.
JT wants Myth & Mana to be a place where people can share that passion with others and where someone who's looking for their people can find them.
For Aaron, Myth & Mana is about building something lasting.
After years spent building a career and businesses for other purposes, the opportunity to create something alongside his son means something different.
This is a chance to build a family business. Something they can be proud of. Something that can grow beyond either one of them. And someday, something that can be handed to the next generation.
Different motivations brought us to the table. The vision we found there was the same.
Community. Experience. Legacy.
Community.
Games bring people together. We want Myth & Mana to be a place where friendships begin, regulars know one another, new players can find a seat, experienced players can find competition, collectors can share what they love, and people have a reason to keep coming back.
The community doesn't begin when we eventually unlock the doors to a physical store. We're building it now.
Experience.
People can buy cards almost anywhere. That's not enough.
We want every interaction with Myth & Mana — whether it's opening a package from us, selling us a collection, joining an event, talking in our Discord, or someday walking into one of our stores — to feel like someone gave a damn.
Great service. Great atmosphere. Great inventory. Great events. And hopefully a hell of a lot of fun.
Legacy.
This one is personal.
We're building Myth & Mana together. Father and son.
We want to create something that lasts — something our family can be proud of and something that matters to the employees, customers, players, collectors, and communities who eventually become part of it.
Success to us isn't simply building a company worth something. It's building something worth continuing.
We're building this in public.
There's something else you should know about our story: you're pretty early.
We don't have the giant store yet. We don't have thousands of customers. We don't have every product line we eventually want to carry.
We're building.
Right now, Myth & Mana is an online-first gaming and collectibles company. We're sourcing inventory, selling cards, developing supplier relationships, building our technology, growing our community, and preparing to host our first local events.
Eventually, we intend to open our first physical Myth & Mana Games location. And our vision goes well beyond one store.
But we're not interested in pretending we've already arrived. We'd rather let you watch us build it.
The successes. The mistakes. The first events. The first store. And, hopefully, everything that comes after it.
The store we want to build.
We have a pretty simple test for the kind of place we eventually want Myth & Mana to become.
That's admittedly not the language they teach in business school. But it's exactly the reaction we're after.
Deep inventory. Great gaming space. Clean, professional surroundings. Employees who actually care. Events people look forward to. Products worth browsing even when you didn't come in looking for anything. And tables where you're welcome to hang around and play.
We don't want to build a place designed to get you through the checkout line and out the door. We want to build somewhere you want to stay. And somewhere you want to bring your friends.
The long game.
We're ambitious about where Myth & Mana can go.
Our goal is to build the first location correctly, prove the model, and eventually bring Myth & Mana to additional communities.
But growth isn't the point by itself.
We want to build a company where employees enjoy working, customers genuinely enjoy being there, the business grows responsibly, and profitability follows from doing those things exceptionally well.
One store. Then, if we've earned it, another. And another.
We're playing the long game. Which seems appropriate.
You're part of the story now.
If you've found us this early, welcome. Seriously.
Someday, if Myth & Mana becomes everything we believe it can become, there will be people who discovered us after the stores opened, after the shelves were full, and after the community was established.
And then there will be the people who were here when we were still building it.
We'd love for you to be one of them.
